How much money are you hoping to raise?
I'm shooting for $10,000, which might sound like a lot but if I catch 100 baseballs and 1000 people pledge $.10 per ball then we have made it. I intend on grabbing way more than 100 balls at Major League and Minor League games this season!! I also hope that a few people will pledge more than $.10 per ball caught as well

What will the money be used for?
100% of the money that you pledge will go directly to MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). MADD's Mission is to eliminate drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking.

Is this charity legit?
Yes! Totally. MADD is a registered 501(c)(3) charity, for more information please go to http://www.maddorangecounty.org/index.htm

Are donations tax deductible?
Yes, to the fullest extent of the law.

Will it actually help if I pledge just one penny per ball?
Absolutely. Not only will the money itself be useful, but the more people who get involved, the more we'll all be able to convince others to get on board. .

So wait, when exactly would I pay?
Not until after the 2009 season. You can make a pledge at any time, but we won't know how many balls I end up with (and therefore how much your donation will amount to) until the World Series is done. That won't be 'til the end of October. At the end of the season someone from MADD will send you a letter to collect on your pledge. Then you send in your donation, it's that easy!

Why are you even doing this?
After losing a friend, as a kid, to a crash involving a drunk driver and then with the tragic events of April 9th, 2009 and the death of Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart and 2 others, I felt that I had to do something to help stop this unecessary crime!
